I came to cinematography through acting. I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2012 where I earned an MFA in Acting. I spent my earlier years telling stories in front of the camera, and slowly gravitated to telling them from behind the camera. For me, cinematography lives somewhere in that balance between preparation and instinct. I want to bring my own intuition to the work while staying true to the vision I’ve established with the director and our prep together. I want the images to feel alive — to feel like they’re happening now, not like we already decided exactly what they were going to be.

I shoot narrative and commercial work and have been lucky to work with clients including Disney, ABC, Seven Toro and The Economist. My work has screened on the festival circuit, appeared on Amazon, and won Best Cinematography at the 48 Hour Film Project.
